Temperature swings stress shrimp and fish. In Singapore's warm climate many shrimp keepers use a cooling fan to bring tank temperatures down by evaporation, while tropical fish tanks in air-conditioned rooms may need a heater. A cooling fan works best with an open or partly open lid and will increase evaporation, so top up with clean water regularly to keep TDS stable. Choose a heater size that matches the volume of your tank.
