Characins, better known as tetras, are colourful schooling fish that bring movement to a planted tank. We specialise in rarer species that you will not find in most local fish shops, including Hyphessobrycon, Inpaichthys, Moenkhausia, Megalamphodus and Paracheirodon, plus platinum forms, undescribed species and captive-bred fish.
Most tetras do best in groups and prefer soft, slightly acidic water; each product page lists size and the parameters we keep them in. Read From the Amazon to Singapore about bringing wild South American fish to Singapore. Tetras are generally peaceful, but larger species may eat baby shrimp, so check the shrimp-friendly note on each listing before adding them to a shrimp tank.
