Black Ketapang leaves are harvested from deep within the Borneo forests, where they naturally absorb high levels of tannins. When added to water, each leaf releases a rich, concentrated amount of tannins, which can be visibly observed. These leaves are commonly used for fish species that thrive in blackwater environments, such as those native to the Amazon or the Borneo jungle.
