The Champion Galaxy Fishbone

Hello again! It’s been awhile since I have updated here.

A hectic final quarter for 2017! Nonetheless, we manage to get hold of the famous champion galaxy fishbone from SL-Aqua.

Details of the shrimps have been carefully selected for us. Details such as the following:
1) A perfect fishbone pattern on the shrimp
2) Fine spots on the body
3) Head portion fully covered in spots
4) Spider legs

The specks of spots are like stars in the sky, hence the name galaxy. Some also see them as snow flakes all over the body of the shrimp and name it snow flake(雪花).

We also got this unique piece. It has a metallic blue on the shrimp giving it a very special look. It also has a very clear define fishbone pattern on the shrimp and a head well covered in spots. This piece is a cull piece from the champion lineage but nonetheless, still so awesome.

The first thing that really attracts me is the spots that are on the head of the shrimps. They are very clear, not lumped together. Secondly, the spider legs are really awesome. It makes them look extremely attractive as if they are wearing christmas socks. Something different from the usual shrimps.

Here is a video of one of the berried ones in our tanks. Apologies for the lousy video as the shrimp was really shy and wouldn’t come out.

SL-Aqua have won the champion for fishbone pinto twice in a row this year. One in the “International Ornamental Shrimp Contest” and one in CIPS. According to them, these shrimps breed up to 50% true rate. That is very good news as it proves that the genes are getting stable.

A big congratulations to them for all the effort in breeding these beauties. It was a great honour to be able to see them and acquire them in our tanks! The shrimp hobby is definitely evolving very quickly. I’m sure there will be a lot more new shrimps next year 2018 and we are excited to see them.

We are definitely looking forward to see what surprises are there in the coming 2018 and would update them here at www.madshrimp.com so stay tune!
