For most shrimp tanks, a gentle sponge filter powered by an air pump is a simple, reliable start. Planted and fish tanks may benefit from a hang-on or canister filter and a brighter light. In Singapore's climate, a cooling fan helps keep temperatures down, especially for Caridina and Sulawesi shrimp. Choose substrate to suit the species you plan to keep.
